Helping Mothers & Babies Across Albania
Every mother and newborn deserves the chance to begin well. But across Albania, we continue to discover gaps in the chain of care—needs that appear during pregnancy, in the delivery room, in the NICU, on the maternity ward, and even after a mother and baby return home.
This is where your support makes a difference. Because of our donors, FSNF can listen, identify where help is needed most, and respond—not only with equipment, but with education, practical support, and compassionate care. Your generosity allows us to work alongside hospitals, healthcare professionals, mothers, and families to strengthen the entire journey from pregnancy through those precious first days and weeks of a baby’s life.
Here are some of the ways your support is making that possible this quarter:
Supporting Premature Babies in Albania’s NICUs
For a premature baby, something as simple as the right protective equipment or access to effective phototherapy can make an enormous difference. This quarter, FSNF responded to critical needs in NICUs, helping provide protective masks and light therapy equipment while also supporting the mothers and healthcare workers caring for these fragile newborns.

Helping Mothers Get Breastfeeding Off to a Healthy Start
The first hours and days after birth can shape a mother’s breastfeeding journey—but many mothers leave the hospital still unsure about positioning, latch, milk supply, or what to do when difficulties arise. Through our partnership with the maternity hospital, mothers receive practical, hands-on breastfeeding education and support, with the opportunity to continue receiving help through MamiCare after they return home.

Bringing Support Home to New Mothers and Babies
The chain of care shouldn’t end when a mother walks out of the maternity hospital. FSNF and MamiCare are helping bridge that gap by bringing midwifery, breastfeeding, newborn-care, and postpartum support directly into families’ homes—where questions and challenges often become most real.

One Marathon, Hundreds of Babies
Sometimes a community member sees a need and decides to do something about it. This year, Lorenc Hoxha turned his marathon into an opportunity to raise awareness and support for premature babies in Albania. His story is a reminder that improving maternal and newborn health is something we can all take part in.

Your Support Helps Us Respond to What Mothers and Babies Need
We cannot always predict where the next need will appear. It may be a piece of equipment urgently needed in a hospital, a mother who needs help getting her baby to latch, a premature baby’s fragile eyes that need protection, or a family who needs someone to walk alongside them during the first difficult days at home.
Your support gives FSNF the ability to respond.
Together, we are strengthening the chain of care for mothers and newborns across Albania—one hospital, one healthcare professional, one mother, and one baby at a time.
Thank you for making this work possible..
