When Every Day Matters
Supporting Albania’s Most Fragile Newborns
For a baby born too soon, the first days of life can be filled with uncertainty.
A premature baby may need help breathing, maintaining body temperature, receiving nourishment, or protecting their developing eyes. Behind every incubator is a family waiting, hoping, and trusting a team of healthcare professionals to give their tiny baby the best possible chance.
At FSNF, we believe those families should not have to face these days alone.

Meeting needs where they matter most
Our work with Albania’s maternity and neonatal units often begins with a simple question:
What do these babies need right now?
Sometimes the answer is equipment. Sometimes it is something as basic as protective supplies that are needed every day. And sometimes the greatest need is support for the mother who is sitting beside her baby’s incubator, or for the healthcare professional caring for dozens of vulnerable newborns.
This quarter, FSNF responded to several urgent needs in neonatal care, including support for phototherapy equipment and protective masks for premature babies.
Phototherapy is an essential treatment for newborn jaundice. For a fragile premature baby, having reliable access to the right equipment can be an important part of safe care.
We also helped provide protective masks designed to shield premature babies’ eyes during phototherapy.

These may seem like small things.
For a newborn fighting to grow and survive, they are not small at all.
Behind every number is a baby
It is easy to talk about NICU care in numbers: equipment purchased, babies treated, supplies provided.
But each number represents a mother.
A father.
A family waiting for the day they can finally take their baby home.
That is why FSNF works not only to bring needed resources into hospitals, but to strengthen the entire circle of care surrounding vulnerable newborns.
We support mothers.
We support healthcare workers.
We help provide equipment and supplies.
And we look for the gaps that others may not yet have the resources to fill.
Your support helps us say “yes”
The needs we encounter in Albania’s hospitals are rarely predictable.
A neonatal unit may tell us about an urgent equipment need. A healthcare worker may identify a shortage of essential supplies. A mother may need help understanding how to care for her premature baby or maintain her milk supply while her baby is hospitalized.
Your donation gives FSNF the flexibility to respond when those needs arise.
Because when a premature baby is fighting for every day, having the right support at the right time can matter enormously.
Help us continue strengthening care for Albania’s most vulnerable newborns.
